Last week, Littlehampton Harbour Board’s workboat Erica successfully completed a specialist offshore recovery operation in support of marine survey specialists Partrac.
Mobilising from Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour, Erica and her crew assisted with the recovery of a seabed-mounted data collection frame located offshore of New Romney, north of Dungeness. The frame housed Nortek Signature 1000 instruments used to record current, wave and water-level data, providing valuable information for ongoing coastal and marine monitoring projects.
With calm seas, excellent weather conditions and careful planning, the operation was completed safely, efficiently and to programme. Erica’s hydraulic crane, winch and capstan systems once again demonstrated the vessel’s versatility and capability in supporting complex offshore marine operations.
