Meet the Team

Colin Monk was appointed as LHB's Chief Executive Officer in October 2023. Colin served for 8 years as a Royal Navy Officer before progressing a 20-year corporate career living and working in the UK and overseas. Prior to taking up his current role with LHB, Colin was appointed as Managing Director and Main Board member with Randstad UKI.

Mike Hayes was appointed as the Harbour Master at Littlehampton Harbour Board in August 2023, having served 2.5 years as the Deputy Harbour Master. Previously Mike worked at Chichester Harbour Conservancy where he gained valuable Harbour management experience, complimenting the extensive marine experience gained during his time cultivating oysters off the Kent coast, and whilst enforcing fisheries law for Kent and Essex IFCA.

At the end of November Marc joined the marine team as Assistant Harbour Master.
Marc has a superyacht background and brings with him a wealth of maritime experience.

Gareth joined the team as a casual staff member in 2022 and was then appointed to a permenant role as Conservancy Officer in January 2023.
Gareth has a technical background in electronics and mechanical engineering as well as experience in communications and informations systems and software programming.


John joined the team in 2024 bringing a wealth of engineering knowledge and experience which compliments the marine team well. His focus is the maintenance of all LHB vessels and their adherence to the relevant commercial workboat code.
