lITTLEHAMPTON HARBOUR WATERFRONT FESTIVAL SATURDAY 15TH AND SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST 2026

MARINERS ARE ADVISED that the Littlehampton Harbour Waterfront Festival will take place on Saturday 15 August and Sunday 16 August 2026, between 1100 and 1700 hours each day.

During this busy period, all mariners are requested to:

  • Proceed at a safe and reduced speed.
  • Maintain a good lookout at all times.
  • Keep a listening watch on VHF Channel 71.
  • Comply with any directions given by Littlehampton Harbour Board staff or authorised patrol vessels.

Prospective visiting yachts should note that no visitor berths will be available on the Town Quay Visitors’ Pontoon on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night due to the attendance of several large visiting vessels associated with the event.

Subject to operational requirements and weather conditions, the following vessels will be open to the public on Town Quay:

Saturday 15 August

  • Border Force Coastal Patrol Vessel NIMROD
  • Sussex Volunteer Fire & Rescue RIB
  • Dunkirk Little Ships:

    • OUR LIZZIE

Sunday 16 August

  • Workboat ERICA
  • Sussex IFCA patrol vessel WATCHFUL
  • RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat (Selsey)
  • RNLI Tamar Class Lifeboat (Shoreham)
  • Dunkirk Little Ships:
    • LETITIA
    • CARONIA
    • OUR LIZZIE
    • MAIMONDE

A variety of stalls, exhibits and live music, including Sussex Steel, will be located on the River Walk adjacent to the Harbour Office. All harbour users are encouraged to participate in this annual event by dressing ship. The RNLI Lifeboat Station and HM Coastguard Tower will also be open to visitors.

A number of marine displays are planned throughout the weekend. In the interests of safety, some displays may require a temporary closure of the harbour. Any closure, and subsequent reopening, will be announced by “Securité” broadcasts on VHF Channel 71.

Displays will take place in the area between Littlehampton Yacht Club and the Public Slipway.

IMPORTANT

ALL DISPLAY PARTICIPANTS MUST CONTACT THE HARBOUR OFFICE ON VHF CHANNEL 71 PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF THEIR DISPLAY TO CONFIRM THEIR AREA OF OPERATION. THIS REQUIREMENT APPLIES EVEN WHERE THE DISPLAY IS PROCEEDING AT ITS PLANNED TIME.

Mariners are advised that timings may be subject to change at short notice at the direction of the Harbour Master.
