We continue to monitor the current situation as part of our ongoing commitment to the health and welfare of our staff, all harbour users, and their families. We’re still following the latest government guidance, as well as advice from governing bodies and authorities to ensure that we have the correct measures in place to protect all of our stakeholders.
Further guidance is expected immimently from government on how the easing of wider lockdown restrictions on 4th July apply will affect the current government instructions regarding use of vessels used inland or at the coast last updated 11th June. Once recieved, this guidance will be shared in an updated Local Notice to Mariners once local policies and procedures have been reviewed and ammended. Until then, nothing has changed for us and and we continue to work to the governement instructions and local policies described in the fourth COVID-19 Local Notice to Mariners issued on the 12th June HERE.
Therefore, please note the visitors pontoon and facilities outside the Harbour Office on Town Quay remain closed to leisure users and will remain closed after 4th July. This is due to the frequent need for rafting on these pontoons and also insufficent staff capacity to adequately and safely fulfil the government’s latest “COVID-Secure” guidance (issued via UKHospitality) for maintaining hygeine on communal hospitality facilities. This will be kept under constant review as the situation develops.
