Littlehampton Harbour has modified our work routines to ensure we are able to meet harbour users’ safety and conservation needs in the challenging times ahead.
In line with government guidance on social distancing, please note the Harbour Office and Workshops will remain closed to non-staff from Saturday 21st March for the foreseeable future. We can be contacted as usual via 01903 721215 or, during working hours, via harbour@littlehampton.org.uk and VHF Channel 71.
The Duty Harbour Master will continue to undertake their role in full to ensure that harbour users’ safety and conservation needs are met. This will include daily patrol and inspection of the harbour where possible.
All other staff are working from home making use of our existing flexible IT and telephone systems to ensure that our non-face-to-face service level will not change. Our marine staff remain on-call for pilotage and emergency port conservation duties. All non-emergency harbour maintenance works have been placed on hold for the time being.
The Town Quay visitors pontoon remains open to visiting vessels. The visitor toilets and showers also remain open but this will be kept under review based on use and availability of adequate cleaning services.
Berth holders who choose to visit or use their boats should follow the government’s social distancing advice and take additional care on pontoons as help may not always be as readily at hand.
As always, daily harbour dues can be paid instantly online at www.littlehampton.org.uk/payments or arranged by phone.
With the rapidly approaching Annual Harbour Dues renewal in April, please note payment can be made online or by phone after invoices are issued as usual on April 1st. We appreciate that many boat owners will now find it difficult to affix their plaque stickers to their vessel so please rest assured that harbour dues are in effect from payment because our vessel database is immediately updated.
We thank harbour users for their cooperation. This policy will be kept under constant review and any further updates published as required.
